Chica Y Chico Mat Fix Cushion Review

Hi guys! I just bought my first Althea box and I am super excited to review the products that I bought. One of these is the Mat Fix Cushion foundation  from Chica Y Chico.

Honestly speaking, it's the first time that I've heard about this Korean Brand but what urged me to buy it were the good reviews about it. This cushion advertises a concealer like coverage that can control oil over a long period of time plus it has cooling effect. The other benefits that come with it are brightening effect, wrinkle care and UVA/UVB protection.

Like any other Korean cushion foundation it only comes in two shades, 21 and 23. I chose the darkest shade 23 but it is still a bit lighter than my skin.

It comes in a black plastic compact, the design is sleek and minimalistic, even the sponge that comes with it is black. The sponge is bouncy and doesn't absorb much of the product.Do not forget to remove the plastic film on the mirror!

The first application is quite disappointing, it's hard to blend because of its thick formula, so what I did on the next application is that I used a damp sponge to blend it easily. Coverage wise, it is of medium and can be layered to achieve a full coverage. The product feels light on the skin, it's like I'm not wearing any makeup. Moreover, the finish is not flat matte and my skin feels moisturized.

I've tried to use this cushion for a week to test its longevity and it still holds up for up to four hours, however after 8 hours the foundation was not noticeable anymore, it was only visible on my eye area and it sank on my pores and made them more visible. As I observed, it lessened the oil production on my face, but of course it wasn't able to stand my super oily skin! I didn't notice any cooling effect and the dry areas on my skin have been emphasized(It's not that I have dry skin, I've been using benzoyl peroxide to treat my acne.). 

Final Thoughts

Overall, this cushion foundation is ideal for those who have a normal to combination skin, for those who have dry skin, stay away from this foundation. Individuals who have oily skin might be able to make this work by putting on primer first and setting it with powder for a more shine-free look. If you're also looking for a cushion foundation that is cheap, has good coverage and will not make your face too glowy you may want to grab this as soon as possible.

BUY. I think that this cushion is a good buy for its price and what it offers, just don't forget to moisturize if you have dry skin.
